SANGAM

SANGAM
Sangam is an ancient town in Nellore District of Andhra Pradesh. It is 30 km west of Nellore.
The prime attraction of the town is a Chola temple, which enshrines a 15 cm tall beautifully carved Nandi. Sangam, literally mean union, got its name from the confluence of the Bogguru, Beeraperu and Penneru rivers.
Nearest airport is Tirupati Airport and Nellore Railway Station is the closest railhead.

SOMASILA
Sited about 80 km from Nellore, Somasila is known for its Someswara Temple and Somasila Dam. Somasila, one of the biggest irrigation projects in the district, is constructed across River Pennar. The temple was built during the rule of Sri Krishna Devaraya. Located in eastern ghats, its natural beauty is noteworthy. On the other side of River Pennar where an Ashram is situated.
Across Pennar River, Somasila Dam is the biggest dam in the entire Nellore district. Its reservoir serves as a picnic spot to the dwellers of the region.

RANGANATHA TEMPLE

RANGANATHA TEMPLE
This temple is famous and is considered equal to Lord Vishnu Temple at Srirangam and the deity is called Talpagiri Ranganatha Swamy. It is the most frequented by tourists. The most famous temple on the southern bank of the River Pennar, The Galigopuram of the temple is 29 m high and has seven gold Kalasams the first entrance to the temple.
The most picturesque sight with its high-definition the Addalamantapam (mirror parlour) is the most important and attractive aspect in the temple. Arranged at proper angles with an elevated and decorated seat for the Lord in the centre, it is walled with high-class mirrors.

The temple is known for its architectural values. Over 600 years old, Ranganatha Temple observes an annual festival of Rath Yatra (chariot festival) every year.

Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple - Nellor

SRI MALLIKARJUNA SWAMY
Believed as the tobe of Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy and Kamakshi Tai temple existing from the peried of lord rama of threthayuga as it is re-constructed in the year 1150. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Kamkshi, an incarnation of Shakti. The goddess Kamakshi is believed as an incarnation of Shaktiand believed tobe only speaking god present days on this planet. A 'Sri Chakram' was installed here by Sri Jagadguru Sankaracharya. Pilgrims take a holy dip in the lake known as Kachpateertham, near the temple, which washes away all their bad karma. jonnawada is the place where the interacts with devotees in dreams during the deep sleep at the temple premises and attends his problems. The place for unbelievable miracles.
Jonnawada also houses some ruined temples.
There are bus service from Nellore to Jonnawada. For the convenience of the pilgrims there are choultries of the Devastanam, Tirupati Tirumala Devastanam and also private choultries. During the celebration of Brahmotsavam in the month of Vaisaka, lakhs of devotees throng the holy centre to attain salvation. A bathing ghat has been built on the bank of the Pennar, for the convenience of the pilgrims.
